Village Headman,  Hassan Y.  Fornah disclosed to the press: ” Alie D. Kamara singularly but yearly pays local tax for seventeen villages – among are Rosent, Manonkoh, Makamba, Mamasong,  Malaflanie etc., including Konta Baisharie – a village of not less than two – hundred houses. Every year, for the entire primary/secondary school pupils in Konta Baisharie, Alie, indiscriminately provides more than enough uniform for all. Currently, he’s constructing a quality nursery school building at Konta Baisharie; he has constructed Mosques at Konta Baisharie and Manonkoh villages; he is constructing standard community halls at Konta Baisharie and Masuba via Fothaneh; he has rehabilitated the Court Barry at Konta Baisharie; he buys at least three hadj tickets for pilgrims on routine basis for the natives of the Section and helps individual homes with food and condiments in every month of Ramadan; he yearly upgrades the main road linking the Kono/Freetown  highway,  to name but a few”.

Headmistress at Wesleyan Church of Sierra Leone (WCSL) Primary School,   Hawa S.  Turay said, though the school is challenged with subvention, the Resident Minister has been helpful to unapproved/community teachers that are not on payroll, devoid other forms of support he gives to the school.

Dorris Machendeh – Community Health Officer at Rokonta Community Health Center said the Resident Minister has been very instrumental especially with his offer of drugs, besides his tireless gesture. “Some time ago, he offered the center with a new motorbike to ease movement stress on the staff plus some number of hospital beds for admission, and a quality weighing – scale for babies.

Eulogising the Resident Minister for facilitating the approval of secondary school teachers by the Education Ministry is the Principal at BEDC Junior Secondary School,  Konta Baisharie.  John Abdul Turay said the school is grateful to the minister not only for his timely gesture, but his voluntary accommodation of more than half of the teachers of the school in his mansion. “With piles of quality sand and granite (stones) plus excavation of the proposed site, I am so touched by the minister’s move to singularly extend the school structure with a storey building plus staff quarters at the same time.

Youth Chairman – James L.  Conteh lamented on the cordial relationship between the youths and the minister. With facilitation by the minister he said, Konta Baisharie now boasts of five functional; apart from two faulty hand – pump wells for safe drinking water. Conteh remarked that farmers at Konta Section have not been opportune to a rice mill.  “Today the minister’s sake has brought us one, on which he spends a lot to buy spare parts”.

The youth chairman is confident that the minister has facilitated a big solar project that will soon provide energy to the village. Most importantly he enjoined, the Minister does not stop at providing scholarships for tertiary students from Konta Section over the years – simultaneously,  his wife – Mrs.  Jemima Kamara, provides adequate learning materials for primary/secondary school pupils.

“For Konta Section,  Alie D.  Kamara is the redeemer”,  the youth chairman boasted. When contacted,  a senior staff at the Bombali District Council confirmed the minister’s yearly payment of tax for more than fifteen villages including his own. For his comment on the story,  the Resident Minister North could not be reached as at press time
