The Sierra Leone Single-leg Amputee National Football Team has climaxed their warm-up encounters as the build-up for the friendly match against their neighbouring Liberia counterparts with a 2-0 victory against the Makeni Amputee team on the 19th of August 2022 at the Makeni Wusum field.

Both James Foday Lumeh and Gbassay Adidas Koroma that are playing professional amputee football in Turkey presently on holidays were featured, skipper Lumeh failed to give his side an earlier lead after he missed from the penalty spot in the tenth minute of proceedings and the first half ended in a stalemate.

Gbassay Adidas Koroma breaks the deadlock to put the visitors ahead with a sensational strike in the 70th minute of action and a few minutes later Osman B Turay’s clinical finish from a cross extended the lead to 2-0 which was enough for the national amputee team to humbled the host team.

Assistant Coach of the Sierra Leone amputee national football team Mohamed Bah asserted his side failed to score more goals as a result of his attacking line “We have already noticed that there is more improvement needed in the frontline that has prompted us to invite the skipper of the Makeni amputee team Foday Smart Kanu to join the squad” he disclosed.

Mohamed Bah concluded that ahead of the friendly encounter against Liberia they played a total of three warm-up matches winning and drawing one “Even though these matches were not enough for better preparation, however, I am optimistic that we are going to continue our good record against” he affirmed.

The friendly match between the two neighbouring countries is scheduled for Tuesday while Sierra Leone’s amputee national football team is expected to travel on Monday.
