As part of preparedness and readiness of the Sierra Leone Police to effectively and sufficiently police the multi-tier elections, the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Augustine Magnus Kailie unveiled and distributed twenty-five brand new vehicles and ten drone cameras to various Regions and Divisions across the country.

Among the twenty-five vehicles, ten are Isuzu Trucks (personnel carriers) and fifteen are Toyota Land Cruisers in a bid to capacitate personnel in the quest for effective service delivery.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, who ably represented the IGP admonished personnel to take good care of these newly procured vehicles and drone cameras for their intended purposes, noting that these items were bought from taxpayers’ money to enhance police effectiveness and improve on SLP’s response time mechanism.

DIG Kailie further opined that the SLP is moving in line with technological advancements to enable the police to do their work with ease and finesse.

He also admonished the Fourth Estate to serve as a watchdog when it comes to mis-management of these items and report to the appropriate authorities for action to be taken against any defaulter.

DIG Kailie cautioned police personnel to be professional while executing their respective mandates and take good care of these items for the betterment of the organisation (SLP).

Climaxing of the ceremony was the inspection of the vehicles and the Drone cameras.
