Sierra Leone’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, His Excellency Mohammed Barrie, paid a courtesy call on Mr. Saqr Al-Quraishi, Director General of the African Affairs Department at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Tuesday.
The meeting focused on strengthening investment and trade ties between Sierra Leone and Saudi Arabia.
Ambassador Barrie highlighted Sierra Leone’s rich natural resources and its fertile land, making it an attractive destination for investment. He mentioned recent geological surveys identifying mineral locations, presenting opportunities for collaboration in agriculture, energy, mining, and human development.
Mr. Al-Quraishi welcomed the visit and expressed commitment to deepening partnership and development on mutual interests. Plans were also discussed for a joint delegation visit to Freetown in the second week of January 2026.
