The Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) and National Grand Coalition (NGC) Alliance held a Town Hall Meeting in Bo city, where both political parties’ leaders resounded the reason for which the Strategic Progressive Alliance was formed.

Leaders of both SLPP and NGC, Dr. Julius Maada Bio and Hon. Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella, along with their party executives express genuine commitment to the cause of the Alliance.

His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio committed to fully supporting the cause of the SLPP and NGC Strategic Progressive Alliance.

He acclaimed Dr. Yumkella for his sacrifice, and for accepting the Alliance initiative. He further encouraged NGC members to trust Dr. Yumkella, that he loves his party members.

Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella expressed depressing concern about the indecency that has overshadowed Sierra Leone politics, stating that ‘mammy cuss’, spreading of disinformation, hate speeches and the use of derogatory languages should not be used as political strategy to winning an election.

He said a true and genuine political campaign and strategies should be focused on policies, ideologies, debate and not the opposite. He therefore reaffirmed his commitment to work with the Alliance for the interest of the country, against the wrong view many people hold about him.

Dr. Yumkella concluded that the next governance should be about delivery, while encouraging SLPP and NGC members to take stamina and get ready to set the country in the path of growth.
