The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Street Sports Hope, Alie Sesay told AYV that they thought it fit to support these girls at this time because over the years they have noticed that they are constrained in the area of adequate sporting equipment to train for competitions. He further said that this is to help the girls choose football and other sports as their lifetime career in society.

Mr. Sesay reaffirmed that girls should be encouraged to participate in sports in addition to focusing on their education. He added that together with their friends and partners abroad they were able to raise the funds to make the donation possible. He maintained that Street Sports Hope will be traveling to Kono by the end of this month to donate similar items to the Kono Diamond Stars Football Club.

Some of the items donated to the Tree Planting Community Female Football team included 20 pairs of footwear, 20 sets training kits, 10 match balls and 4 goal keeper gloves.

Speaking on behalf of the Tree Planting Community Female Football Team was Frank Junisa who is the Coach for the team. He described the gesture as very timely for the team as they have been facing challenges with regard equipment to boost training especially when the team is to represent the community. He said they will make good use of the items to train for upcoming football competitions.
