Already, thirteen amongst the fourteen districts offices of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Gender and Children’s Affairs in the country have started enjoying full swing solar generated electricity supply, with a few other district such as Kenema still having an itch with the solar panel electricity supply, as the panel most times is unable to power the office machines when printers and other appliances are turn on.

The thousand dollar project was funded by UNICEF, and it is expected to filter in information from the various ministry stations in relation to child security and protection from across the country.

The four days tour covers the north, east, south and western rural.

The minister’s reaction in Kambia on the unbelievable state of the internet accessibility at the station completely changed the face of the system, as throughout the north, there was absolute inaccessibility of the internet. Pujehun and Bo in the southern region are key amongst the district that are facing challenges on accessing the internet, while Port Loko in the north and Bonthe in the South are still deprived of not only accessing but internet connection as well.

According to Dr. Sylvia Blyden, the image presented to her by officers at the ministry in relation to the project was never a true picture, while stating that all that she sees was absolute mess.

She vows to revamp the chain of communication at the ministry which is presently lacking appropriate line of reporting.

Majority of the data officers at the district level raised eyebrows over the super fastness of the internet, as according them it has never been like that since it was installed.
