Welcoming guests at the Launching Ceremony held in his chiefdom the Paramount Chief of Kolifa Rowala Chiefdom, PC Alhaji Masac Macanka 111 thanked the President for introducing the Free Quality Education in the country, and particularly for the Free Teaching and Learning Materials, which will be distributed to schools.

He said President Bio has taken away huge burden on most inhabitants of his chiefdom who cannot afford to fully support their children in school.

He said as Paramount Chiefs in Tonkolili District they are committed to see the Free Education Program succeeds, and therefore he said it will be their sole responsibility to ensure that the teaching and learning materials get to their rightful beneficiaries.

He said they are fully aware of people with desire to see the Free Education Program fail. He said those persons will make an attempt to put the core text books in the markets for sale. He said, as a result of that, they will be vigilant to fish-out these persons from their chiefdoms, for the law to take its course and as the President added, those persons will be disgraced publicly.

 He on behalf of Traditional Authorities in Tonkolili District assured the President of their support to ensure that the Free Quality Education Program succeeds, because of its relevance to the development of Sierra Leone.

A Regent Chief in Malall Chiefdom Alhaji Sanda Bangura said he set up a special educational committee in his community that was instrumental to ensure that the exercise books, government initially sent to their Chiefdom firstly get to the pupils, and are handled with care.

He said he was able to achieve that result, by telling his people that if the books are not misused, more support will be sent to their village.

For this reason, he said he is happy with the launch of the teaching and learning materials which will be distributed to government and government assisted schools, including those in his locality.

He further spoke on the need for communities to take advantage of the Free Quality Education Program.

He said majority of their people are today poor because they are illiterate. He said most of them continue to be in the dark because of they cannot pay school fees for their children.

He said all of these worries of parents are now a thing of the past, therefore he encouraged parents to send their children to school, particularly the girl child.

He said in order to get children in his village concentrated on their studies, they as leaders have slammed ban on disco dance shows and public film screening in their village.

He encouraged other traditional authorities to emulate such an idea for the Free and Quality Education delivered by the president will not be wasted.
