Torrential rains in the early morning hours (3:00am) of Thursday left homes, businesses and public buildings in Makeni – northern Sierra Leone roofless destroying properties worth hundreds of millions of Leones.

CEO of Hope FM in Makeni, Stanley Bangura Jr said torrential rains took away the roofs of the building housing his radio station, and the Provincial Times Newspaper.
City Bar and Restaurant and City Unisex Saloon on 46 Rogbaneh road are roofless.

The Makeni City Council building was also left roofless with equipment and documents destroyed.
