The Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (EC-SL) has announced that the distribution of Voter (Identification) Registration Cards will commence on 17th March and will end on 26th March, 2023 in all 3,630 Centres across the country.

The process will start at 7am till 5pm during the days mentioned above and the EC-SL has advised the public to disregard any contrary date published on any social media platforms.

The EC-SL has already trained staff on the distribution of voters ID card in a bid to heighten the Commission’s plans and preparations ahead of the general elections.

The training has the primary focus on legal framework, activities at the centre, voter’s registration card issuing staff, access to the centre and the centre layout and packaging.

Chief Electoral Commissioner, Mohamed Konneh said they have completed the process of preparing the voter I.D. cards and will start issuing them to voters on the above date.

He said the total number of voters amounts to 3,374,258, of which 685,761 were registered in the eastern region, 567,978 in the northern region, 489,617 in the north-west, 691,116 in the southern region, and 939,786 in the western region.
