It could be recalled that various media outlets had hyped reports about VP Jalloh saying he is a businessman and that he would use this position to bring in huge supply of rice for sale at cheaper rate within ninety days of the SLPP in power.

The reports have been described further by VP Dr. Juldeh as “totally misleading and meant to cause mistrust and unease in the public domain.” He used the opportunity to warn all those trading in such vicious and malicious false propaganda to stop or have themselves to blame when the law catches up with them.

He informed a galaxy of journalists that he has never said at any time that he is a business man with connections to import rice into the country. He further informed the press that he is a civil servant and that he has never dabbled in any rice importation business let alone importing rice because he is simply not a businessman. He stressed that he is a civil servant whose current preoccupation and concern is assisting President Julius Maada Bio deliver on the promises made to the people of Sierra Leone.

He encouraged members of the media to always cross-check their facts on anything concerning his office, adding that he believes in an open door policy.
