The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) has sought to reassure football fans and stakeholders that there is no uncertainty surrounding the future of Leone Stars head coach Mohamed Kallon, despite ongoing contractual discussions.
SLFA President Babadi Kamara disclosed that while Coach Kallon is yet to formally sign a long-term contract, the situation is well under control, with active engagement involving the National Sports Authority (NSA) and the Ministry of Sports to finalize the necessary arrangements.
“Our relationship with Coach Kallon is solid. He has our full support, and there is no intention to terminate his role,” the SLFA President assured.
According to Kamara, a pre-contract agreement is currently being prepared and will be reviewed by all relevant parties, stressing that the process is administrative rather than a reflection of dissatisfaction with the coach’s performance.
Mohamed Kallon, who took charge of the national team in February 2025, has overseen several international friendlies and FIFA World Cup qualifying matches, laying the groundwork for what the SLFA believes is a promising future for the Leone Stars.
With major competitions ahead — including the FIFA Men’s Series scheduled for March 2026 and the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers in September — the federation remains confident in Kallon’s ability to steer the team toward qualification for the next AFCON tournament.
Addressing rumors of tension or possible dismissal, Kamara firmly dismissed such claims, reiterating the federation’s trust in the coach and commitment to continuity.
The SLFA says its priority remains creating a stable technical environment for the national team as preparations intensify for a pivotal year in Sierra Leonean football.
