Contrary to rumours that school reopening has been postponed, Sierra Leone’s Minister of Basic Education, Dr. Moinina David Sengeh has confirmed that all schools across the country will be opened this morning and that continuous assessment will start today with no further delay.
The minister urged all parents, guardians, teachers and all pupils to show up early today, eager and ready to learn.
He further revealed that close to Ten Thousand teachers have undergone professional development this holiday and that another over Two Thousand teachers will be added to the payroll this academic year.
He assured that more classrooms have been built and renovated and more pupils already enrolled.
