Turbulent is the road that leads to female football and for it to gain momentum in this part of the continent is a phenomenon.

People believe the place for the woman is in the kitchen, they do not believe they can make something out of life through sports

A group of seven (7) women with Asmaa James at the helm of affairs as chairperson are ready to make history and change the narrative to kickstart the first female premier league in Sierra Leone.

This is the dawn of a new era for women and girls and despite the financial challenges because people don’t seem to see female football as a serious investment just yet, she continues to pave the way so that women will start exhibiting their entrepreneurial prowess.

There is no one better to celebrate for changing the trajectory of women and girls than Asmaa James who is reckoned to be the First Lady for Female Football in Sierra Leone.

“It’s a huge burden, but it’s a sacrifice we have to make on our part,” she said.

There is a need for the women’s league to be given more attention for it to grow.
