Bangura claimed the establishment of the Independent Police Complaint Board is a demonstration of the President’s will to allow every independent institution operates independently with no political interference. He said the media has enjoyed the greatest freedom ever under the leadership of President Ernest Bai Koroma. The Communications Minister pointed out that the government of President Koroma will cements its democratic credentials with the expulsion of the Seditious and Criminal Libel Law in the country’s law books.
Bangura revealed that the President has allowed every organ of the government to operate independently for the sole purpose of consolidating the country’s democratic principles both local and international. He said the President has received many International Accolades and recognition for his human right track record which is a fundamental principle in democracy.
