The Outgoing Sports Minister Ibrahim Nyelenkeh has handed over the office documents to the Newly appointed Minister, Madam Augusta James -Teima on Wednesday 2nd August 2023 at the Ministry’s Conference Hall, Bishop House Siaka Steven Stadium Brookfields.

This documents covers key projects, ongoing initiatives, legislative matters, stakeholders relationship, and any other relevant matters, it is with no doubt that providing the incoming minister with access to this knowledge base will facilitate her understanding of the ministry’s operations and enable her to make informed decisions.

Speaking during the handing over former minister Ibrahim Nyelenkeh says he met 35 sporting disciplines, 16 were in serious conflict, in order to fulfill the president’s manifesto to resuscitate all sporting disciplines, that was where he started his work as minister of sports, he furthered by saying one of his greatest achievement is bringing sanity into sports and resolving all conflicts among sporting disciplines .He concluded by expressing full confidence in the newly appointed minister.

In her response the minister of sports Madam Augusta James Teima thanked the president of Sierra Leone Dr Julius Maada Bio for appointing her as minister and also commended the former Minister of sports Ibrahim Nyelenkeh for his five years of serving in the ministry and promise to work diligently with staff of the ministry of sports.

During the reign of the outgoing minister they achieved 150 medals 12 trophies from different sporting institutions. The Ceremony was witnessed by NSA’s Executive Director Dr. Kenneth Brima and team, Former Adviser to the Outgoing Minister, Alie Kader, Members of staff of the Sports Ministry, Paul Dambulay Manager Stadium Management, Alfred Tucker Deputy Manager and Sports Journalists from different media houses.
