Moore pointed out that there were twenty two ATM machines in fuel stations and that they would soon install the twenty-third at the NP station on Campbell Street, adding that internet banking was for both their individual and corporate customers in the country.

She added: “We should all be proud. Not too long ago, banking was about paper. There were no ATMs, POSs, Internet Banking, Text Message alerts. Cheque books, bank drafts and long queues in banking halls were the hallmarks of banking. So much has changed. Today, our sons and daughters are banking online and on their mobiles”.

Head of Consumer Banking, Isha Sheriff, mentioned that the mission for the consumer bank business at Ecobank was to ensure that their customers were provided with world class, convenient and accessible banking across Africa and globally.

Present at the launch ceremony was the minister of information and communications, Mohamed Bangura, who testified that the electronic banking system was very much effective, stating that he was able to buy a wedding gown using the electronic banking system.
