Sierra Leone accredited to train Specialists in Surgery, Urology

The Hospital Care Manager of  Connaught Teaching Hospital Complex, Dr. I. Mark Kapuwa, has confirmed that the University of Sierra Leone Teaching Hospital Complex (USLTHC) has received full accreditation from the West African College of Surgeons to train Specialists and Members in General Surgery and Urology.

Dr. I. Mark Kapuwa also confirmed that the Teaching Hospital has been granted partial accreditation for the training of Consultants and Fellows. He expressed excitement about this achievement, stating, “We are thrilled to announce that Connaught Hospital has received full accreditation from the West African College of Surgeons to train Specialists and Members in General Surgery and Urology, along with partial accreditation for the training of Consultants and Fellows.”

Dr. Kapuwa emphasised the significance of this milestone, noting, “This achievement is a major milestone for our healthcare system, paving the way for enhanced medical expertise and better healthcare services for all Sierra Leoneans.”
