He said he boarded the motorbike at Old Railway Line, Brookfields, where he conducts his trade on 9 September, 2017.

‘The accident occurred after the rider diverted his course through Tu-Slam without explaining the reason to him’, he said.

He said, apart from the severe injuries he sustained especially to his right foot, he he was robbed the sum of Le4,200,000,000  (four million two hundred thousand Leone) while he was unconscious during the incident.

Mansaray said he was rushed with to the Emergency Hospital at Goderich near Freetown by sympathisers at the scene of the incident, where he was temporarily admitted and received medical treatment.

 ‘I’m still in total shock’, he said, adding that ‘It seems as if certain okada riders are involved in criminal syndicates in which they have developed the habit of diverting the course of passengers through high-risk routes, especially at night and deliberately cause these accidents, and later escape with their agents and the victim’s possessions including cash’.

He called on the police to put urgent measures in place to stop the unfortunate development.
