It could be recalled that the five convicted persons collected the sum of Seventy-Four Million Leones (Le74,000,000) from a suspect in Bo who was being investigated by the ACC, assuring him that they would influence the ACC investigators to drop the matter.

All five persons were convicted on the first count of Conspiracy to Commit a Corruption Offence and were sentenced to eight (8) years imprisonment each; whilst Prince M.E. Nallo was convicted on the second count of peddling influence and sentenced to six years to run concurrently.

The Court also ordered the convicts to pay to the ACC as restitution the Seventy-Four Million Leones they collected.

The state was represented by Emmanuel Koivaya Amara Esq. whilst the defendants were represented by P.T. Sowa Esq.

The ACC reassures the general public of its continued commitment to the fight against corruption in Sierra Leone.
