Speaking at the event, Managing Director of ITV, Sorie J. Bayor said ITV started operations in Sierra Leone in August 2017 and has since met the expectations of its subscribers in particular and the people of Sierra Leone in general. He said they currently have 63 channels and counting, adding that this is the first country they are launching the ITV as they plan to invest in other West African countries because they want to help Africans get quality viewing for a cheaper rate.

“In the 63 channels, we also have Star Tv and AYV channel 33 and 34 that are digital stations, with hope to add SLBC when we migrate to digital.” Sorie stated.

He went on that their subscription starts at $10 which is the lowest and $35 which is the highest, adding that they have all the news channels of BBC, CNN, Sky News, Al Jazeera and also they broadcast the Premier League and other leagues around the world.
The managing director furthered that they are the premier provider of entertainment, information and education and said they will continue to work assiduously to add more channels with the best quality pictures and hope that Sierra Leoneans will benefit from them by paying less and getting quality.

He said in as much as they are here on business, they still have their Corporate Social Responsibilities to perform and they have been making donations to victims of flood and landslide.

AYV’s Operations Director, Stella Bangura at the meeting said auditions in Freetown have completed and that the Team will be in Bo town on January 6 at the Madam Yokie Hotel on Dabala Road and Makeni town on January 7 at Wusum Hotel respectively for the regional auditions.

She went on to appeal to all those in Freetown and from other parts of the country and world, who have bought their forms to travel to Bo and Makeni for their auditions.

Stella concluded that all shortlisted candidates from the Freetown, Bo and Makeni auditions will again be assembled at Sierra Palms in Freetown on a date to be announced soon for a final audition to convince the judges for their final selection..

Managing Director of AYV, Dr. Ezekiel Kalvin DuramanyLakkoh thanked and appreciated ITV’s input to past big sister show. He confessed that what ITV brought into the show added more professionalism to the entire event.
