According to many Sierra Leoneans, the Office of the First Lady is one very important office in the governance system of the country and must be manned by serious and sober-minded, well focused women of substance who can make meaningful contributions to the nation and further adequately represent the country in any international first ladies and women’s affairs.

As the country has less than five complete months to its next transition national elections (new president and new first lady), the call for aspiring presidential candidates to get their legally wedded wives to talk the people of Sierra Leone on what they have got in stock to contribute to national development should their respective husbands be elected president at the 2018 elections keeps resounding.

It is now clear that the All People’s Congress (APC) party has endorsed Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara as its Presidential Candidate for next year’s elections and should he win the presidency, Mrs. Samura Kamara (Photo below) will automatically become Sierra Leone’s next first lady.

Also, the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) has endorsed Retired Brigadier Julius Maada Bio as its 2018 Presidential Candidate and should he win the presidency, Mrs. Fatima Bio (Photo below) will definitely become the country’s next first lady.

The National Grand Coalition (NGC) has also prospected Dr. Kandeh Kolleh Yumkella as its 2018 Presidential Candidate and should he win the elections, Mrs. Philomena Yumkella (Photo below) will be Sierra Leone’s next first lady.

The Alliance Democratic Party (ADP) has also endorsed Mohamed Kamarainba Mansaray as its Presidential Candidate for 2018 and should he win the elections, Mrs. Kamarainba Mansaray (No photo of her to date) will be the country’s next first lady.

There are rumors that sacked Vice President of Sierra Leone Samuel Sam Sumana will be the endorsed Presidential Candidate for the Coalition for Change (C4C) after the approval of the party by the Political Parties Registration and Regulation Commission (PPRC). If so be it, and should he win the next elections, Mrs. Kadia Samsumana (Photo below) will be the country’s next first lady.

This is a call made for also other new and old but not too active political parties that would be contesting for the 2018 presidency, such as the RUFP, PDP and NDA among others.

The people of Sierra Leone want these prospective first ladies to start talking to them now and explain how they aim to help their husbands to succeed in running the country after 2018 when one of them would have won the presidency.

Currently, the Office is being adequately operated by Mrs. Sia Nyama Koroma (Photo below),

wife of His Excellency President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma and it is an arguable fact that the people of Sierra Leone are very much pleased with the professional manner in which the Office is being carried, especially with its tremendous and wonderful records in representing and advocating for the betterment of women and girls of this country to the international world.
