He further that there is need for SMEs and local corporate customers to go beyond pure provision of financial services, adding that the Emerald Club will present an opportunity for EcoBank to build brand recognition and customer loyalty while increasing customers’ productivity as well as improving theie credit performance.

He added that the aim of the bank is to help the growth of businesses across the continent by facilitating and ensuring seamless trade activities. He maintained that the club will also boost intra-Africa trade, leveraging on the bank’s presence in thirty-three countries. He further stated that the objective of the business club is to grant members special care through capacity building with the aim of creating networking and contributing to developing their businesses.

Mr. William mentioned among other things that the club will also provide capacity building through access to training; and provide financial advice to club members.

In his keynote address, Mr. Wilfred Sam King described Emerald Business Club as a platform for consultative meetings that will tap into the knowledge of experts and help improve SMEs and corporate businesses. Mr. King outlined his challenges in the financial sector and used it to advise colleagues on the imminent challenges in the sector.

Officially launching EcoBank Emerald Business Club, the Managing Director Mrs. Lucretia Aina Moore noted that the club will serve as a unique enabler of inter-regional and intra-Africa trade. She maintained that this will aid SMEs’ customers source for new markets for their products and services.

She added that it is their hope that the business club will build symbiotic relationship that will benefit the bank and it numerous customers.

The launching ceremony was held at EcoBank headquarters at Lightfoot Boston Street in Freetown.
