18-year-old Sierra Leonean US-based teenager, KemaPumagoi is a humanitarian, rights advocate and motivational.

Born and raised in Sierra Leone’s second capital – Bo, and attended the Holy Rosary Primary from 1st to 2nd grade and moved to the Zenith International Academy from 3rd grade to 12th grade from where she moved to the U.S to pursue her studies.

Her dream is to become a Dental Hygienist.

Pumagoi has nurtured the desire of giving and helping the poor since she was a little girl back in her home country Sierra Leone. “Looking after the unfortunate and deprived has been a family mantra engraved in me”, she said.

She has done a lot of charity and volunteerism, even in the US where she’s moved to further her studies.

Her interest in advocacy is triggered by her desire to effect social change in society.

“I’ve seen people like my mom and other relations stood-out being brave and got their voices heard on issues of social injustices”, Pumagoi said.

She has sat and listened to her mom in workshops where she shared her story of trauma due to the deprived economic situation she lived and how she’s told hundreds to always be inspired by hope and see her as an example. She got her inspiration from her mom.

As a philanthropist, she has donated clothing and food items to hundreds of economically deprived people and families both in Africa and the States.

In the heat of the COVID-19 pandemic, she donated facemasks to those less considered in society.
