The As-Safir story claimed the Lebanese Foreign Ministry has received clearance from the government in Sierra Leone to receive waste from Lebanon as a kind of business deal. The Sierra Leone government has quickly rubbished the claim as can be seen in the press release below sent out on the same day the story was published, January 9th.

Meanwhile President Koroma has instructed Foreign Minister Dr. Samura Kamara (photo), the Office of National Security and the Sierra Leone Police to look into the matter.
