PC Madam Wokie said she then approached Kingho for support about a week ago after she realized that the company once operated in that part of the country. She added that as a sign that the company values the relationship with the people of her chiefdom, in two days Kingho was able to support her chiefdom. She expressed profound thanks and appreciations to the company for the show of support to not only her chiefdom but also for the government’s agenda of quality education in the country.

Public Relations and Media Officer of Kingho Investment Company, Abdul Malik Bangura said the CSR is one of two ways the company supports communities across the country.

He said that the company has a Community Development Action Plan (CDAP) Project that is been undertaken by its subsidiaries Kingho Mining Company in Tonkolili and Kingho Port and Rail Company in Kamasondo.

He said, however, “CDAP do not cover other parts of the country as per statutory requirement it is for communities 30KM around the mines and port operations.”

Abdul Malik said that the company apart from its CDAP projects, also has CSR and that based on the urgency of the proposal sent by the Paramount Chief of Galliness Chiefdom for the rehabilitation of their only Junior Secondary School, the company, through its CSR Committee immediately acted upon it with the hope of boosting the moral of education in that part of the country.

He thanked the people of Galliness chiefdom and assured Sierra Leoneans of the company’s fullest commitment towards upholding its CSR in the country.

During her vote of thanks, Madam Muniratu Swarray thanked Kingho for the kind gesture.
