He also told the police that after he had murdered his mother he washed his hands clean of blood, and stressed that he deliberately and brutally killed his biological mother, because he suspected her of conspiring with other people within the Grafton community to kill him.

According to the accused person, Dauda Sesay he never regretted killing his mother and that after he had killed his mother, he came out from the scene of crime and informed some tenants about what he had done with his mother.

He further explained to the police he decided to kill his mother, owing to the fact that he noticed that normally when his mother gave him food, he would behave abnormal and uneasy but that he does not have this experience when he eats the food of neighbors.

Detective Sergeant Abdul Karim Bangura was led in evidence by State Counsel, S. M Bah who intimated the court that he is attached to the Criminal Investigation Department branch at Kissy Police Division and recognized the accused person and recalled the incident of 11 February 2016.

According to him, he was on duty when a transferred case and enquiry file, the accused person, one old kitchen knife and a bayonet were handed over to him for further investigation.

He told the court that, he later obtained voluntary caution statement from the accused person Dauda Sesay, and added that on 13 April 2016 he went to the Connaught Hospital mortuary where the deceased remains was identified to him by her relatives.

The witness continued that he then led a team of detectives to the scene of crime at Grafton which was headed by Crime Scene Officer, together with the accused person, where the accused person Dauda Sesay demonstrated how he succeeded in killing his mother, Yeali Sesay on the day and time in question.

He went on to say that, at the conclusion of the interview statement, he charged the accused person with the offence of Murder, contrary to law.

The accused Dauda Sesay is being defended by Lawyer C. Tucker from the Legal Aid Board and he is expected to appear before Hon. Justice John Bosco Allieu at the next Criminal Session of the High Court of Sierra Leone in September this year.
