Sandhurst’s Royal Military Academy’s newest Cadet Officer recruit from the Republic of  Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF)- 25 year- old LuckeyMorson LLB.

Luckey is a 2019 law graduate from Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. She applied to the World renowned Sandhurst Academy while waiting to enroll into Law School and attained the highest score nationally to receive the scholarship.

She was also the runner up for Miss Sierra Leone Beauty Pageant 2016. A hardworking young woman and the eldest of three children by Ms. Viviane Foray, she has maintained her focus to supporting herself and family.

Luckey multi-tasked between her academic work while managing the first Sierra Leonean make-up brand Donnery Elegance. Her boss became a mentor and inspired Luckey to pursue her unlimited potentials.

I am extremely proud of our young Lady Officer Luckey – Congratulations and go make Sierra Leone super proud!!

Lieutenant LUCKEY MORSON is a lucky lady indeed. Born and bred in our beautiful FREE-TOWN, the vibrant rolling capital city of SWEET SALONE, this is a young woman bristling with brilliance and bountifully blessed with so much more, including bravery.

Now Luckey has acquired a singular honour that is the special reserve of a chosen few.

This young Sierra Leonean female military officer graduated from the elite Royal British Military Academy in Sandhurst (RBMAS) on Friday 06/08/21. Following a very colourful passing out parade, full of purposeful pomp and patented pageantry, the name LuckeyMorson has been forever inscribed in the coveted official register of the world-famed Sandhurst Military Academy.

This particular soldiery rite of passage is an international institutional privilege that is reserved for a very lucky few. And if you happen to be a woman then the phrase “lucky few” becomes even more narrowed-down in a glorious exceptional bracket.

The Sierra Leone High commission in London is proud to have represented the people and government of Sierra Leone at this official leadership passing out ceremony which included “the sovereign’s parade”.

Deputy High Commissioner Mrs. Yvonne King-Odigboh and Head of Chancery, Mr. WistonYankuba were both in attendance on the green lawns and inside the glittering halls of a world-famed military establishment, to witness the well-deserved accomplishment  of one of our very own in a blooming harvest of honour planted in the terrain of real hard work.

In the words of the British Prime Minister, the Rt Honorable Boris Johnson, “*there is one priceless skill that Sandhurst gives you and that is leadership. The ability to inspire, improvise, to rally, to constantly put yourself in the shoes of others and to help bring out the best in them.”

The Prime minister went on to state: “It’s fantastic that today there are soldiers from 22 other countries from Sierra Leone to the United States and I wish you the very best in your careers and I hope that you will look back fondly on your time here.”

For a country to begin to rise, it has to start by developing its Human Resources and propelling itself, using all available levers, in every foreseeable area to eventually reach that golden height mapped out by a sound national vision.

Trust the Process!
