The one day football competition attracted classes from the 90’s unto class of 2017; the one day gala was on knock out stage which sees class of 2010 and 2003 clashed in the final, which was eventually won by class of 2010.

A member of the class of 2010, Joe Kanu of F.C Johansen stated that it was a good thing bringing together regentonian and that situation would help foster a better relationship among regentonian, adding that winning the first Lasite trophy was a pleasure and honor to be part of such historic moment of one of the greatest school in West Africa.

A member of class of 2002, Mohamed Fofanah said he would like to see the laudable venture being sustainable as that could be a great step in the process of uniting old boys of the Sierra Leone Grammar School.

One of the organizers Allen Campbell stated that the gala was an activity ahead of the regentonian night on the 19th May 2017; he further stated that Mr. Lasite has contributed in the transformation of many lives as well as contributing to the human resources development of our nation.

He mentioned that the Gala was named after the current principle owing to the fact that Lasite reign as principal would come to an end in 2018 and that the trophy was a good way to always remember his tremendous work for the school.
