Her Excellency the First Lady of Sierra Leone, Dr. Fatima Maada Bio has inspired a large number of young people of the Republic of Liberia in an open conversation organised by the Vice President of the Republic of Liberia, Her Excellency Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor, at the EJS Ministerial Complex in Monrovia.

The first lady was in Liberia for the 60th Birth Anniversary of H.E Chief Dr. Cllr. Jewel Howard Taylor, Vice President of the Republic of Liberia and the founder of the Jewel Starfish Girls Empowerment Program.

Her Excellency Dr. Fatima Maada Bio was invited along with Nigeria’s Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osibajo to grace Liberia’s Vice President’s 60th birthday celebrations.

Her Excellency Dr. Bio in her opening statement, appreciated Vice President Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor for the invitation and for the opportunity to share stories of her successes and challenges, with over 400 emerging leaders.

First Lady expressed admiration for Vice President Howard-Taylor, whom she applauded for her successful journey from a First Lady to a Senator, and now to Vice President.

In a very interesting interactive discussion, Madam Fatima Maada Bio explained to the highly attentive audience that social media is a place she uses to educate, learn, as well as to staunchly promote the interests of girls and women in her country.

This exciting programme, organised in honour of Vice President Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor’s 60th birthday celebration, was also attended by the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, as one of the Special Guests of Honour.

The three important personalities, in the persons of Vice President Chief Dr. Jewel Howard-Taylor, Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and Dr. Fatima Maada Bio, shared their experiences and inspired hundreds of young people present. The session ended with a special questions and answers session and a lot was learnt from the experiences shared.
