The first prosecution witness told the court that he recognized the deceased as his land lord, the accused person and could remembered the incident of 3 April 2017, within the Freetown judicial district of the Republic of Sierra Leone.

Evidence adduced at the trial of Yealie Sama before Hon. Justice Monfred Sesay on Wednesday 20 June 2018, with State Prosecuting Counsel, Joseph A K Sesay leading the evidence, the first prosecution witness Mohamed Koroma who is a tenant to the deceased, told the court that after Yealie Sama had murdered her husband, Alhaji Mustapha Sama, he (witness) came out of his room to enquire what the problem was and heard the deceased crying for help.

Mohamed Koroma testified that when he came out of his room after the alleged murder of Alhaji Mustapha Sama by his wife Yealie Sama the room of the deceased was dark, but he used his mobile phone torchlight to see what was going on and spotted the accused, standing at the entrance of the deceased room completely naked.

According to the witness, he also saw the accused wiping her hands and two kitchen knives that were covered with blood on a door curtain.

He informed the court that he endeavored to enquire from the accused person what the problem was but the accused person did not respond. He added that he then went into the room of the deceased and saw him lying in a pool of blood.

The second prosecution witness, Minkailu Sesay intimated the court that he also recognized the deceased, Alhaji Mustapha Kamara as his landlord as well as the accused Yealie Sama in the dock and further recalled 3rd April, 2018.

He said he was awakened by the loud cry of the deceased and he came out of his room to enquire what the problem was and met the accused Yealie Sama standing at the entrance of the deceased totally naked, while trying to use the door curtain to wipe blood off her hands.

Minkaliu Sesay told his audience that when he met the accused standing naked at the entrance of the deceased room, he passed and went into the deceased room where he saw the deceased lying dead in a pool of his own blood.

The matter comes up again Wednesday 27 June.
