In Kabala town he told his audience that his Ministry is responsible for the maintenance of all roads network and Government Assets, emphasizing that this was why he took a high powered team of Oversight Parliamentarians and Engineers from the Ministry and the Sierra Leone Roads Authority (S.L.R.A) to meet all stakeholders to get firsthand information on issues pertaining to the roods sector.

Mr. Konteh went on to say that the road sector is a major contributing factor to develop the economy of any nation, adding that President Bio’s Government is not in governance to build political roads but to construct strategic roads that will be of beneficial to the people.

Commenting on the Feeder roads, the Minister outlined that he is now coordinating with funding Donors as the country is no longer on any emergency to see how better they use machines and chemicals to construct the new design Feeder roads that will sustainable and will last for a duration of seven to ten years that would solely be supervise by S.L.R.A.

Deputy S.L.R.A. Director General Abdulia Ansumana, revealed that with good roads network it will help reduce poverty especially with the transportation of goods and food stuffs.

He said S.L.R.A is currently working on a Road Master Plan that will be connecting the entire country through boarder roads crossing bridges and ferry crossing that will inter links all districts connection in the country.

In Makeni, the Resident Minister North West Abu Abdulia Koroma mentioned that this was the first time in history that the government is coming to meet the people to do selective development of inclusion to identify what roads must be selected within their districts.   

The Paramount Chief of Kono P. C Tamba Foyoh says he admired the good initiative of the Minister, commenting that as long as all the stakeholders are now involve from the initial process of the assessment of these roads, this will make them become firm within the monitoring of the projects.

Works and Public Assets Deputy Minister Philip Tetetma Tondoneh revealed that Government is now revisiting all M.O.U’s of the previous government to see how best they can have value for money.

Very brilliant contributions were done by Stakeholders in Port Loko, Kambia, Bo, Kenema, and Kailahun whilst the Senior Permanent Secretary Prince Cole chaired the meetings.
