Two million, five hundred thousand Euros will be given to local councils for development purposes, while each of the districts will receive four million, five hundred thousand Leones.

It could be recalled that on 4th February 2019, a workshop was held at the Bombali District Council hall, where stakeholders and councilors from different wards were present.

During the workshop, the team leader, Professor Ludovick Shirima said informed participants that the main purpose of their visit to Sierra Leone was to contribute towards the country’s long term stability, equitable growth, and reduce poverty and foster integration for local development.

He added that they want to ensure that all local authorities are empowered to fulfill their mandate as per the decentralization process and to implement priority actions that are consistent with local development plans.

He added that they want to support relevant institutions at the central level of government on building inclusive and participatory reform processes.
