Both genders have been in training for the past two weeks in preparation for the Roll Ball World Cup in November hosted by China this year. Forty countries will compete in this year’s Roll Ball World Championship. How prepared is the National Roll Ball teams to represent Sierra Leone is the question AYV Sports team put to the captains when we visited them at their various training grounds at Siaka Stevens Stadium Roll Ball court.
Emmah Mansary is the lady’s captain for Roll Ball in the country and she spoke to AYA Sports explaining that her team is determined ahead of the World Roll Ball championship to come back with trophies and laurels.
Osman Conteh is the national captain of Roll Ball team men’s category. He assured the general public that this is not the first time they would be representing the country, adding that they are confident of do admirably well in China and make Sierra Leone proud.
With these set of players in training, only 30 of them will make the list for both male female teams. According to the President Noel Williams of Sierra Leone Roll Ball Association, the list will be submitted on 30th June.
