She explained that, four of the accused persons used to work for her husband, Wurie Jalloh, popularly known as (Wurie Palaver), and furthered that, on the above mentioned date, she was at her residence at Wurreh Makula in Lokommasama Chiefdom, when all five accused entered her residence and enquired violently for her husband.

According to the witness, before accused persons stormed her residence in Wurreh Makula, her husband had informed her that he was going to a town called Foroad Lokomassama to meet with the Paramount Chief of the Chiefdom, together with accused persons in respect of a matter, he had brought against accused persons.

She told the court that, later on she surprisingly saw accused persons moving towards her residence, holding offensive weapons,  like sticks, hammer, motor bike chain and  violently asked for the whereabouts of her husband, stating that, first accused, Mohamed Bangura told her that, they were in search of her husband, and wanted to kill him.

 The witness further explained that, her husband, Wurie Jalloh, who had returned earlier before accused persons stormed their residence at Wurreh Makula, had to run away when suspected accused moving towards him with the intension to harm him, and that, since they could not lay hands on her husband, she said fifth accused, Sheka Kamara accused persons hit Isatu Jalloh with a motor bike chain on her head, and blood started oozing profusely from the bleeding spot.

 Madam Mariam Jalloh went on to state that, second accused, Mohamed Kamara also hit deceased with a stick on her, and even kicked open the door to her stores, where she keeps her food items, whiles they were hounding her husband, adding that, the son of her husband’s friend who intervened in the rowdy fracas, was also seriously assaulted by the marauding assailants now stand accused of murder.

The witness noted that, whiles they were scuffling with accused persons, her husband who had skilfully escaped the scene later submerged at the residence of the Paramount Chief in Foroad Lokomassama to inform him about the terror, accused persons had unleashed on his residence and family members.

She concluded that, when her husband returned home from Foroad Lokomassama, she explained the whole scenario that unfolded in his absence, and she was never invited for statement to police.

 During cross examination by Counsel for accused, Sonia Spence Coker from the legal aid board, the witness responded that, she knew all accused persons and saw them on the above stated date of incident at her residence.

 She maintained that, her testimony to the court was true and was not giving any false evidence against accused persons. 

 Justice Monfred Sesay has adjourned the matter to 30 November 2016.
