The Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA) has unveiled three Mobile Licensing Vehicles ahead of the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA) League match, marking a significant step towards improving service delivery, enhancing transparency and bringing vehicle licensing services closer to MDAs and the general public.
The expansion, under the leadership of Executive Director James Bagie Bio, aligns with President Dr Julius Maada Bio’s Big Five Game Changers, particularly the fifth pillar, Transforming the Public Service Architecture, which prioritises efficiency, professionalism, accountability and improved public service delivery.
Under the initiative, MDAs are encouraged to renew their vehicle fleet licences through the Mobile Licensing Stations without additional service charges. Official fees for vehicle and driver’s licence renewals shall be prominently displayed on the vehicles to promote transparency, prevent exploitation and ensure that customers are fully informed of the authorised charges.
The SLRSA has reiterated that no emergency or facilitation fees are charged for its licensing services. The public is urged to avoid unauthorised payments and seek assistance only from uniformed SLRSA staff displaying valid identification cards. All payments must be made through authorised channels.
These measures form part of the Authority’s broader efforts to curb licensing fraud, strengthen institutional accountability and restore public confidence in its services.
The unveiling of the three Mobile Licensing Vehicles represents another practical step in the SLRSA’s commitment to efficient, transparent and accessible public services. It also reinforces the Government’s broader agenda to transform public service delivery through improved institutional performance and customer-focused service.
