“I am so pleased that the people that were to move out have moved out,” Sandy said; adding that it shows that the people are now in securer places to carry on with their lives.

Mr. Sandy added that they have started the process of demolishing the structures that were paid for, noting that the area will henceforth be a no-go area.

The area according to Sandy is disaster-prone and people should not live there but that over the years, people settled therein which led to them losing their lives during the mudslide incident.

According to Dr. Sandy they intend to come up with a strong environment protection policy which will ensure that such disasters do not easily happen.
