The drivers made this commitment during a meeting hosted by the Minister at the Wusum Hotel in Makeni .

The Minister Dr. Abu Bakarr Fofanah reminded the drivers of his stance against indiscipline and professional misconduct.

He lamented the action of carrying goods and passengers in the ambulances, driving dangerously on the roads and using sirens and hazard warning lights inappropriately, adding that defaulters would now face the full penalty of the law.

The misuse of the ambulance he reiterated is a serious concern to government, stressing the need for a change of attitude.

Dr. Fofanah expressed gratitude and appreciation for the role played during the Ebola outbreak and encouraged them to work patriotically ahead of the new National Ambulance Service System that would be implemented soon across the country.

He cautioned the public who are in the habit of conniving with ambulance drivers to desist from using them as commercial vehicles and remain peaceful and respectful citizens.
