According to the court records, the accused persons were nabbed by a team of Anti Robbery Unit of the Sierra Leone Police Force attached to the Lumley Police Division following a tip off by an anonymous resident. The resident had detected the accused persons in the chill of night making incessant attempts to attack his residence at Regent in the outskirts of Freetown.

They were arrested together with a automatic rifle, sledge hammer, cutlass and other dangerous implements and were subsequently detained.
