In her statement, the SLRSA Executive Director, Dr. Sarah Finda Bendu said that bidding for the project was advertised in August 2014 through International Competitive Bidding and informed that SLRSA staff at the site would in two weeks relocate to MARICAN at Grassfield, Wellington.

SLRSA Board Chairman, Reverend Michael Samura and Dr. Sarah Bendu officially handed over the site plan to the contractor, informing that the Authority would visit the site regularly to supervise the work.

Ibrahim Jaffar, Managing Director, Constracta Limited-Sierra Leone assured that the building would be constructed according to the terms of the agreement and the plan to acceptable standard and guaranteed quality work to be completed within 18 months as the company is renowned for building several ultra-modern edifices.

The General Manager of IDEAS Limited, Jenner B. C. Forde also assured that Constrata Limited would perform to satisfaction as they have partnered with the company for several years.

The well-attended ceremony was graced by SLRSA staff including the Director of License, Ibrahim Sagbah, Deputy Executive Director, Alice O. Pratt, Communications Director, Abdul Karim Dumbuya, Board Director, Abdul Kalokoh, the Acting Road Safety Enforcement Director on Secondment, Captain Thomas Sandy, staff of IDEAS Limited and Constrata Limited.

Climax of the event was a visit to the MARICAN site where SLRSA parks most of the vehicles, flouting traffic rules.
