The purpose of the visit was to discuss with community people about their needs, and to supervise the work of Social Workers, Child Welfare and Mothers Group in that part of the country.

The community people expressed the happiness, stating that it was the first time a government Official has visited them.

The working visit continued at the Health Centre and the Police Post where the Deputy Minister spoke with the women and children.

A meeting with the ministry staff was also held, where the Deputy Minister encouraged them to work as a team and to ensure that the work in line with Government’s Agenda for Prosperity.  During the meeting a cross section of the disable people in Kenema visited the Deputy Minister to congratulate her on her appointment and also pledged their support towards the good role the Ministry is playing in addressing their problems. They took the Deputy Minister on a conducted tour of their vocational centre. “I am happy with the disable in Kenema who are engaged in the training of different skills,” Madam Neneh Turay said, she also made a snap visit to their tailoring centre and the blacksmith section.
