Delivering his remarks as Chairman opening Dr Ezekiel Kelvin Durmmany-Lakoh, who doubles as Dean of IPAM informed the audience that the rationale behind convening annual Public Lectures is to avail students the opportunity to be exposed to public debates, imbibe new ideas and interact with key stakeholders, influential personalities in society and to ask pertinent questions.

He stated further that they are working coconsciously to ensure that they don’t only have it once in year.

In his remarks ,the Vice Chancellor and Principal of IPAM, Professor  Edmond Nunni stressed the fact that the institution will not only focus on how to produce good administrators  that are  contributing to the development of the country but how IPAM could start to do business.

He mentioned about the construction of the new IPAM Bureh Campus which, he said, will commence in September. Professor Nunni also dilated on the new medical facilities his administration has put in place at IPAM that will address health emergencies on campus.

One of the keynote speakers, Ibrahim Brima Swarray, who happens to be the Chief Executive Officer of the National Public Procurement Authority (NPPA) motivated the students to move away from their comfort zone admonishing them that much could be achieved if only they work effectively and efficiently. He furthered that we need to negate corrupt practices as no country can develop if it is steeply corrupt.

Swarray made reference to China where he said corruption is a capital offence and if found guilty in indulging in it then the perpetrator will be severely punished.

On his part, the Managing Director of Sierratel, Senessie Kallon noted that they are on rapid transformation under the New Direction. He furthered that he has put in place a package known as the Public Private Peoples’ Partnership to ensure that people participate directly in the development of his institution hoping that when it is effectively rolled out it will take Sierratel to another level. Other speakers made salient contributions.
