The Supreme Court of Sierra Leone will this morning Tuesday April 20, 2021, rule on the objection of President Julius Maada Bio and the governing Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP) as petitioned by Dr. Sylvia Blyden and Co. against the April 2018 Election of President Bio.

It can be recalled that some three years ago, on April 9th 2018, Dr. Blyden and some senior All People’s Congress (APC) members filed a petition against the election of President Bio into the presidency.

A Notice of Hearing was served yesterday to the respective parties and today it will be made clear on the petition’s merits or whether it will be thrown out of the Supreme Court on technical points as requested by President Bio and the SLPP.

According to the Notice, the Hon. Chief Justice himself will be presiding today to deliver the Judgement and the proceedings will be covered live on AYV television channel 33.
