The Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), NaCOVERC and the Ministry of Health and Sanitation yesterday 31st August 2021 launched the COVID-19 Vaccine Roll-Out for the National Team and the Sierra Leone Premiere League Divisions one and two at the Siaka Stevens Stadium in Freetown.

President of the Association, Thomas Daddy Brima urged the Teams, officials and the public to be vaccinated as this he said will enable spectators to gain access into the stadium or any match venue to watch a match.

He said the launch is also a way to help government in the fight against COVID-19 across the country, adding that once the games begin, no one will be allowed access into any games center without a proof of being vaccinated.

Spokesperson for NaCOVERC, Solomon Jamiru encouraged the Teams and the public to take the vaccine and help eradicate the deadly Virus from Sierra Leone.

He said NaCOVERC teams will be stationed in all part of the country to ensure all player and spectators be fully vaccinated.

Deputy Minister of Health and Sanitation, Amara Jambai expressed concerns over the vaccine denial rate especially among young people.

He used the event as an opportunity to urge young people to take the vaccine as this will help stop transmission of the Virus.

The program was climaxed with the symbolic process of vaccinating some players and football officials present at the event.
