SALPOST Signs Memorandum of Understanding with SLRTC

“SLRTC has busses that travel to the lengths and breadths of the country. So we need to explore that facility.”

Mr. Kamara also stated “the MOU is to re-establish and to reaffirm the friendly bond that has existed for long between the two institutions.” He continued, “the Government has provided an enabling environment through its beautiful road infrastructural network throughout the country. SALPOST wants to use the opportunity to fulfill its universal mandate of delivery mails to the last mile.”

In response to the submission of the SALPOST Deputy Managing Director, Assistant Director General of SLRTC Ahmed W. Jalloh said the MOU signing is historic in the existence of the cooperation. He said, ever since the establishment of SLRTC, it has signed a lot of MOUs but what makes the one with SALPOST unique is the facts that both SALPOST and SLRTC have similar mandates. He stated that both of them target “Social Services and Human Development.” He further assured that SLRTC will do all it could to ensure that their partnership with SALPOST achieves it desired goals at the most time efficient manner.

In addition, Abibatu Dumbuya, Corporate Secretary of SLRTC called on both institutions to be very committed in ensuring that the needs of Sierra Leoneans are achieved. She also assured that SLRTC will play its parts and it will do all it could to ensure that the general needs of people is acquired.

Furthermore, Dr. Robert A. Coker, Technical Manager SLRTC promised that the service they will provide to SALPOST will be very fantastic. He also assured that mails would be delivered as and when it is needed. He further called for cooperation between the two institutions.

Whilst contributing, another member of the SALPOST Management, Mr. Abdul Rahman Munu said irrespective of religion, sex or tribal differences, SALPOST has always been committed in catering for the postal needs of people within and outside the country at all available costs. He thanked all the members of SLRTC for their brilliant statements of commitment, and promised that SALPOST will do all it could to deliver its own mandate.

The vote of thanks was done by Mr. Zocker, Public Relations Officer SLRTC. The MRU ceremony was climaxed by a moment of friendly chats and laughter between management staff of SALPOST and SLRTC with both reaffirming to fully deliver on their mandates.
