“It is through our preservation of the culture that we can hold on to tourists that can spread the name of the country to other parts of the world. Besides, a country will never exist without a history and that is what constitutes a nation state”, he said.

He added: “We need to have cultural heritage at the Sierra Leone Airport to tell our history in that part of the country. Every ethnic group in the country has a very rich history to tell to the outside world and that which we tell of ourselves makes us different from the rest of the world”.

Representing the Sierra Leone Library Board, Theresa Wusha- Conteh, stated that preserving the cultural heritage of the country was the responsibility of Sierra Leoneans and that must be done to tell the present generations of what happened in the past.

She emphasised that it was very important to always have a trace of their past as that would guide them into the future and encouraged participants to take care of the print and audiovisual heritage in the country.
