At the Chamber’s 55th Anniversary Dance and Dinner held at the Bintumani Hotel in Freetown, the AYV Media Empire was singled out among hundreds of companies in Sierra Leone and awarded as the Best Commercial Company for the year 2016.

The award was presented by the Vice President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Victor Bockarie Foh to the President and CEO of the AYV Media Empire, Ambassador Anthony Navo (Jnr).

The youth ambassador was accompanied to the podium to receive the award by his team of young directors, presenters, reporters and producers.

In his acceptance speech, Ambassador Navo expressed appreciation to the institution for acknowledging the massive feat of the media empire. He said the award will serve to continue to motivate the young generation at AYV to stay on top of situation always.

Ambassador Navo dedicated the award to his staff, viewers of listeners and readers of AYV Television, Radio and Newspaper, partners and advertisers and to prospective advertisers.

Reading out the award citation, the President of the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture disclosed that the AYV Media Empire grown from a very humble beginning in 2011 with just a newspaper. Five years later, the newspaper has given birth to a printing press, radio, television and an entertainment desk.

The media empire is further serving as a sub to train and expose young graduates to the rudiments of professional journalism.
