Sierra Leone is set to host the second Binary ECOWAS Brown Card Summit, a significant initiative signed by the Insurance Association to address the pressing issue of digitalisation and the need to enhance efficiency in the insurance sector.

The Summit is in an effort to encourage closer collaboration among ECOWAS Member States, insurance agencies and foster a stronger sense of regional partnership.

In a momentous event marking a decade of progress, Sierra Leone will host the Summit in Freetown for the first time.

The groundbreaking event will bring together 15 African countries, showcasing Sierra Leone’s commitment to regional cooperation and the digitalisation of motor insurance. The ECOWAS Brown Card Scheme, grants Sierra Leonean motorists unrestricted access to any of the 15 ECOWAS member states.

The mutual agreement does not only promote cross-border travel but also ensures that motorists can drive confidently, knowing they are covered by insurance, no matter where their journey takes them within the ECOWAS region.

Chairperson of the Sierra Leone Insurance Company, Ambassador Alie Bangura and other Stakeholders has discussed their vision for the digitalisation of motor insurance within the framework of the Brown Card Scheme and it benefits to policyholders.

The initiative does not only signifies Sierra Leone Insurance Associations’ pivotal role in regional integration but also underlines their commitment to embracing digitalisation to better serve the public and enhance cross-border travel experiences.
