Miss ECOFEST, Disc Jokey, Hypeman Winners turn millionaires

The Management of ECOFEST has awarded prizes to winners of the Miss ECOFEST, Disc Jokey, Hypeman Competition held at the ECOFEST 2024 – ‘The Illumination’ event on 20th December, 2024 at the Africell Beach front, Bendu’s Drive Lumley.

Addressing the various winner at the AYV Entertainment Hall yesterday, Chief Executive Officer of ECOFEST, Mrs. Hawawa Hawa Turay congratulated the winners for their time and effort towards a very successful event and competitions.

She said ECOFEST served not only as a focal point for cultural exchange across the African continent but also as a beacon of unity, showcasing the uniqueness and talent that makes our nation exceptional. She further thanked the event’s sponsors and partners for their supports, noting that with its ambitious agenda and diverse lineup, the Illumination Edition was a cultural extravaganza, blending entertainment with empowerment. She said the festival was poised to illuminate Sierra Leone’s cultural landscape and elevate its position on the African stage.

At yesterday’s prize awarding ceremony, winner of Miss ECOFEST, Rosetta Sylvaina Dumbuya took home NLe50,000 plus an all-funded trip t Dubai. Rosie, a final-year Linguistics student at Fourah Bay College, loves music in every language. She dreams of becoming an influencer, chef, actress, and businesswoman, perfectly embodying ECOFEST’s spirit of talent and ambition.

Alimatu Sylvia Conteh, 2nd Runner-Up for the Miss ECOFEST. A runway and commercial model, Alimatu is also a dedicated advocate for women’s and girls’ empowerment. A lover of nature and diverse cultures, she’s a multi-talented person who enjoys spoken word and poetry. Her passion for modeling, fashion and entertainment inspired her to compete.

Sasha Sarian Koroma, the 1st Runner-Up. She is the founder of Empower She, an organisation dedicated to advancing education and skill development for women and girls. A passionate advocate for change and a lover of diverse cultures, Sasha aspires to become an ambassador, using her platform to create a lasting impact on a global scale.

Tiano Nilla Partiezan Savage Clinethomas, Winner of the ECOFEST Hypeman Competition! Tiano brings 9 years of entertainment experience to the stage. His energy, charisma, and dedication have earned him the top spot as Sierra Leone’s ultimate hypeman. The future is bright for this talented entertainer!

Hassan Sesay aka Hypeman Sweet: 2nd Runner-Up at the Ecofest Hypemen Competition. Hypeman Sweet has been in the entertainment industry for the past five months and is quickly gaining recognition as a talented hypeman in Sierra Leone. His funny lines and exceptional crowd control make his performances highly entertaining.

Ibrahim S. Conteh, aka IB Fresh: 1st Runner-Up at the ECOFEST Hypeman Competition. A multi-talented entertainer, IB Fresh wears many hats as a DJ, football commentator, event MC, hype man, and stand-up comedian. His energy and versatility earned him a well-deserved spot as one of the best at this year’s competition. Well done, IB Fresh.

DJ Vickydinho: 2nd Runner-Up at the ECOFEST DJ Competition. CEO of Genius Production Entertainment Inc., DJ Vickydinho is a PHD holder in Governance And Regional Integration. He discovered his passion for music at a young age and refined his craft while at St. Edward’s Secondary School. Through his company, he not only showcases his own talent but also supports and promotes rising stars in the music industry. Congratulations on this incredible achievement.

Foday Massquoi, aka DJ Sweet Kiss, 1st Runner-Up at the ECOFEST DJ Competition. DJ Sweet Kiss, a seasoned talent in Sierra Leone’s music scene, began his DJing journey between 2009 and 2010. With over a decade of experience, he has honed his craft and become a crowd favorite.

Congratulations Foday Massquoi, aka DJ Sweet Kiss, 1st Runner-Up at the ECOFEST DJ Competition. DJ Sam King, the Winner of the ECOFEST DJ Competition.

Samuel Kargbo, known as DJ Sam King, has claimed the title of Sierra Leone’s finest DJ by winning this year’s highly competitive ECOFEST DJ competition. His electrifying talent earned him this very well-deserved victory. Samuel is currently pursuing higher education at Fourah Bay College.

ECOFEST is short for ‘ECOWAS Music Festival’, a regular appointment in the Sierra Leone festival scene that sees the participation of musician, dancers and performers from all over West Africa.

It is primarily a music festival, aiming to offer a platform to musicians of ECOWAS countries to come together and celebrate West African music and culture. Internationally acclaimed and emerging artists come together during this annual festival, making it the largest music festival in West Africa.
