The Office of the Ambassador of Entertainment in Sierra Leone has issued a statement following the arrest of Zainab Sheriff over an alleged inciting remark made at Atouga Mini Stadium on 31st January 2026.
In the statement, the Ambassador, Kao Denero (Amara Dennis Turay), strongly condemned any expression capable of inciting unrest, emphasising the need to safeguard Sierra Leone’s hard-earned peace and stability.
While denouncing inflammatory comments, the Office also appealed to authorities to ensure that Sheriff is granted her full constitutional rights. It urged that the matter be handled fairly, transparently, and strictly in line with due process.
The statement further called on entertainers and public figures to exercise responsibility and caution in their public engagements, stressing that maintaining national peace is a shared obligation.
The development has sparked conversations within the entertainment industry and beyond, highlighting the delicate balance between freedom of expression and the protection of public order.
